  • Our History
  • The presence of Muslims in Lethbridge dates back several decades, even before the establishment of an official place of worship. Recognizing the need for a dedicated space for prayer and community activities, the Lethbridge Islamic Centre was founded in 1992 on 13 St S, Lethbridge. This mosque remained the heart of the Muslim community for over 25 years, providing a place for worship, religious learning, and social gatherings. As the Muslim population in Lethbridge grew steadily throughout the 1990s and beyond, surpassing 1,000 members, the need for a larger facility became evident. In 2018, LMA acquired the Bill Kergan Centre on 13 St N, Lethbridge and transformed it into a new mosque, ensuring that the growing community had a spacious and welcoming place to gather for prayers, educational programs, and community events.

  • Our Beliefs
  • At the Lethbridge Muslim Association, our faith is deeply rooted in the fundamental principles of Islam, which guide our spiritual, moral, and communal life. We uphold the Six Articles of Faith, which form the foundation of our belief system: 1. Belief in One God (Allah) We firmly believe in the Oneness of God (Tawhid)—that Allah is the sole Creator, Sustainer, and Controller of everything in the universe. He is eternal, without partners, children, or equals, and nothing is comparable to Him. 2. Belief in the Prophets of God (Allah) We believe in all the Prophets sent by Allah, from Adam (AS) to Muhammad (PBUH). Each Prophet was chosen to guide humanity toward righteousness. We uphold that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the final Messenger and Seal of all Prophets, delivering the last and complete revelation of God. 3. Belief in the Divine Books of God (Allah) We believe that Allah has revealed divine scriptures to His Prophets as a source of guidance for humanity. These include the Torah (Tawrat), Psalms (Zabur), Gospel (Injil), and the Qur’an. Among these, the Qur’an is the final and unaltered word of God, revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the ultimate guidance for all mankind. 4. Belief in Angels We believe in the existence of Angels, created by Allah from light. They are His obedient servants who carry out His commands, such as Angel Jibreel (Gabriel), who conveyed divine revelations, and Angel Israfil, who will blow the trumpet to signal the Day of Judgment. 5. Belief in Predestination (Qadar) & Fate We believe that everything happens by the divine will of Allah. He has complete knowledge of past, present, and future, and everything unfolds according to His divine plan. However, humans are granted free will and are accountable for their choices. 6. Belief in Life After Death & the Day of Judgment We believe in an eternal life that begins after death. Every individual will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds on the Day of Judgment. Those who followed the path of righteousness will be rewarded with Paradise (Jannah), while those who rejected faith and righteousness will face consequences in Hell (Jahannam). These beliefs define our faith, guide our actions, and inspire us to live a life of devotion, compassion, and service to humanity.
